← Side Quest
King's Gambit
Answer well, move wisely — check the enemy king.

How to Play

  1. The class splits into two kingdoms — White and Black — facing off on a miniature 4×7 chessboard.
  2. On its turn, a kingdom answers a question. Correct → move one piece (standard chess moves). Wrong → the turn passes.
  3. The board rotates each turn, so the active kingdom always plays from the bottom of the screen.
  4. On its first move a pawn may advance two squares. Captured pieces earn bonus points, and a pawn that reaches the far rank is promoted.
  5. A move that would leave your own king in check is forbidden — such squares are never offered.
  6. Put the enemy king in check and the duel is won at once — no need to capture it!
